Transitioning Out of Sport

Transitioning out of competitive sport or performance can be extremely difficult.  Most athletes and performers have made sacrifices all their lives for their sport, often times leading to a strong athlete/performer identity. Identifying solely as an athlete or performer can make transitioning out of sport somewhat traumatizing. For so many years each day consisted of some type of practice, training,  or games. Competition fueled a drive to constantly push your limits. Athletes and performers with this strong identity are often times ill prepared for life when their competitive playing days conclude. Preparing for this transition, or working together to navigate a healthy, successful path after sport is what Champion’s Mentality can help with.  Common issues with transition can lead to poor health habits, depression, emotional, and relationship issues.
